Another quick update of some tweaks that i made to this small black pine last winter.

The tree prior to the work. It had been bothering me for some reason and i decided that it was not compact enough so while watering one day i hatched a plan.

While somewhat hard to read in the image sequence above, through use of a bending jack, i was able to take what from the top was a straight trunk-line, and introduce a 90 degree bend, which in turn shortened the trunk and brought the foliage closer to the root base.
From here the work was essentially a wiring exercise.

From here i will likely let it grow without de-candling. This will require a heavier cutback alter on to chase the growth in but should be less stressful overall given the severity of the bend.
